What are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a prosthetic tooth root that is placed directly into the jawbone to replicate the underlying supportive structure. This is then attached to a restoration on top.

The 4 Step Dental Implant Process

  • Initial Dental Implant Consultation: You’ll discuss your dental and medical history with Dr. Allen, and he’ll also perform a detailed exam to see if dental implants align with your health goals.
  • Dental Implant Surgery: Dr. Allen has the training to perform the surgical placement of implants himself, meaning you can have the entire procedure completed without a referral in most cases.
  • Healing/Abutment: As your mouth heals, the implants will bond with the bone and become stable and secure. After a few months, abutments are placed on top, which will connect the post(s) to your new teeth.
  • Delivery of Dental Implant Restoration(s): The finishing touch, your custom zirconia or porcelain restoration is attached to your implants, completing your smile transformation.

Benefits of Dental Implants

  • The only tooth replacement that actively prevents bone resorption in the jaw, lowering the risk of dental drift and future tooth loss.
  • Restores much more bite strength than traditional dental prosthetics, enabling a patient to eat a healthier diet that supports overall wellness.
  • Clearer speech and improved appearance facilitate social connection, leading to better mental health.
  • With normal daily hygiene and regular checkups, implants can easily last for 25 years or longer.
